History/Company Profile:
Founded in 1995, Morrissey Hospitality Companies has built a well-defined
vision and strong sense of purpose in its many hospitality businesses.
By focusing on the upper Midwest, we are able to enhance our portfolio
regionally with complementary businesses and value-added services
making Morrissey Hospitality hotels, restaurants, and specialty catering
operations highly profitable for our partners. Our dynamic marketing
and brand-building programs increase sales, establish customer loyalty,
and improve the stability and overall financial health of each business.
We create wealth for our owners and opportunities for our employees,
while consistently practicing Authentic Hospitality. Our portfolio
of unique properties includes a number of the Midwest’s premiere
full-service hospitality brands. These brands are more than just hospitality
venues; they are fixtures of the communities they serve. Hotels like
Minnesota’s Landmark, The Saint Paul Hotel, and the newly positioned
Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, Kansas, are community icons. Our market-leading
restaurants like The St. Paul Grill, Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant
& Bar, and Tria Restaurant, Bar and Market, serve as venues where
guests enjoy a brand of hospitality that is increasingly becoming
all too rare. In addition to our free-standing restaurant and hotel
operations, our award-winning Wildside Caterers anchors our Sports
and Entertainment division, providing destination-restaurant quality
food and service to major event venues like the Xcel Energy Center
Arena-home of the Minnesota Wild, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, the Saint
Paul RiverCentre, and the beautiful and historic 317 on Rice Park
event facility.
Morrissey Hospitality Companies has provided consulting and management
services to eight different historic properties ranging from 20 –
250 rooms, in Minnesota (2), Illinois (2), Iowa (3) and Kansas. This
experience uniquely qualifies MHC as the Midwest authority on the
unique nature of historic properties, whether they have been continuously
operating, subject to restoration or ‘new’ hotels being
put in structures of historic significance. In all cases, MHC recognizes
the distinct advantage historic hotels have in the marketplace, due
to their conveyance of a ‘sense of place’ and related
attributes that carry through the entire guest experience.
